Lauri here! San Antonio is my home, and we’ve got a lot waiting for you! My favorite area is our historic downtown. Start at The Pearl, an 1883 brewery reinvented as a foodie and cultural center. One of the three CIA locations is right here, and the Hotel Emma exemplifies architectural magic. Don’t miss the world-famous Riverwalk and Alamo, and be sure to explore the Briscoe and La Villita. Complete the Mission Trail, and wander to Southtown for inventive food and art. El Mercado offers traditional food and all things hecho a mano. The outdoor evening Saga at San Fernando Cathedral is an unforgettable light show about our history. If you venture a bit northward, The McNay museum and grounds are stunning. (It’s THE place for local bridal portraits.) Visit San Antonio and stay as long as you are able. Bienvenidos!

Dayton, OH (about half hour north of Cincinnati). I love the visual and performing arts scene in my town! We have a professional Symphony (Dayton Philharmonic), Ballet (Dayton Ballet), and Opera (Dayton Opera). We also are home to 2 amateur symphonies (Miami Valley Symphony Orchestra and the Springfield Symphony, and a professional dance company called the Dayton Contemporary Dance Company. There is always something happening downtown!

Live in New Bern NC

I live in Dandridge, TN. There is so much history in this area. Located between two large lakes and about 30 minutes from Pigeon Forge, there is a little something for everyone.

Sure to look into it

I’m Western Mass born & raised! Depending on your style, there’s lots to do here! Six Flags New England is located right in my hometown of Agawam, MA and the MGM casino is just minutes away! I love a good brewery tour & there has been an explosion of amazing breweries in many of the surrounding cities!

I live in Atlanta, the hub of the southeast! If you visit, check out these places and things to do:

  1. Piedmont Park, our version of Central Park. Lots of shaded walking paths, an active oval, a pond, playgrounds, cafes, a dog park, a swimming pool and gardens. The park offers walking tours where you can learn the interesting history behind it, too.

  2. Movie site tours: Lots of movies and TV series are filmed in and around Atlanta. Tyler Perry Studios are located south of the city, Stranger Things offers a tour, and there are new temporary locations filming weekly.

  3. See the Atlanta Hawks (men’s basketball), Atlanta Dream (women’s basketball), Atlanta Braves (baseball), Atlanta United (soccer) or Atlanta Falcons (football) play, depending on the season!

We live in a little town of Fairfield Ca. right in between San Francisco and Sacramento. there are tons of things to do.

  1. Visit the city of San Francisco and see all of our Piers
  2. Go wine tasting in the beautiful city of Napa

I live in Bangor, ME, right in the heart of the Pine Tree State. If you’re looking for cool things to do:

  • See the author Stephen King’s house in Bangor (with spooky fencing)

  • Visit the Paul Bunyan statue on Main Street, one of the largest depictions of the mythical figure.

  • There are also a ton of restaurants that are great such as Timber, Mason’s, Geaghan’s, Pat’s Pizza, etc.

Current California Hometown
I am Southern California born and bred but I am currently hanging out near my 4-1/2-year-old grandson in Sacramento. If he is answering this question, it is the many great dog parks and trails in and around the city, and for outdoors adventurers, it’s a great place to make base camp for a couple of weeks to explore Northern California.
My faves:

  1. Old Sacramento - on the waterfront near the confluence of the mighty American and more languid Sacramento rivers, you can visit the California Railroad Museum, have fantastic culinary journeys, and even board a steamboat and take a train ride!
  2. Crocker Art Museum - the front of the building is a beautiful old home restored to its glory attached to an amazing modern sculpture where you can see the best art exhibitions in the area. Parking is nearby and you can walk along the river trail here.
  3. Accessibility of everything I love - from the beach and ocean to rivers and mountains to cities and deserts, you can reach all of your favorite climates and activities from here while living in a mostly moderate climate. And if your grandchildren are nearby, it’s truly a no-brainer!

I live in Dallas. If you are not from around here or the south I would recommend you go to the Fort Worth Stock Show for the cowboy experience. If that is not your vibe, we have the Perot Museum, Dallas and Fort Worth Zoo’s and Botanical Gardens, and the Dallas Aquarium.

These are fantastic recommendations @tracy.steuckrath! We just took a trip out to Southern California in February, it sounds like I need to make my way back and hit up Northern CA!

Hi! I’m down in sunny Miami - unless it’s a summertime afternoon, and then you’ll be soaked with sideways rain. If you’re coming to visit, definitely hit up the beach. Miami Beach is beautiful but know you’re going for a crazier vibe. If you want relaxing, stay on Key Biscayne. Miami has awesome restaurants all around so plenty of choices. Venture West and take an airport ride in the Everglades. It’s very touristy but still worth it for something different. Enjoy!

Raleigh NC

  1. Bar crawling downtown (if you’re into that) - recently changed so that you can walk around with your drink in certain areas
  2. All the parks and greenways - it is not difficult at all to get outside and be active
  3. Lafayette Village for a cute neighborhood hangout area with several shops and lots of restaurants; set up to look like a French village (although there is not a French restaurant in the village - go figure)

I’m Nicola from Glasgow Scotland. My top three things to do here.

  1. In city centre check out the pubs. There’s nothing like a good Scottish pub. Or Irish we have plenty of those too. Take in the great hospitality and be everyone’s new bestie. Guaranteed at least 3 new Facebook pals.

  2. Celtic park tour for football lovers. The biggest and grandest stadium in Scotland. Plus I’m a massive fan. See the famous tunnel, walk onto the park and even sit in famous seats like billy Connelly and Rod Stewart.

  3. Kelvin Grove art Gallery and the Transport museum are great for kids and free. Loads of activities to do and absolutely beautiful surroundings.

I’m located in Los Angeles, California - where do I begin?!

My top three recommendations:

  1. Go to the beach, of course! Take a drive down the PCH, or ride a bike down the strand. There’s no better way to enjoy relaxing, scenic views.
  2. Visit my favorite restaurant, Cento. This chef started out in a pop-up weekly in DTLA and worked his way into his own space in West Adams. His cult following, speaks for his culinary brilliance.
  3. Take a hike! - literally. There are plenty to choose from, but I would opt-out from the popular, busy trails and find a more lowkey vibe with amazing views. Unfortunately, I can’t share mine because then it will become the latter. Good luck, haha!

Hi, I’m Myriam from Casablanca, Morocco ; nice to be here among you all!
